Musheerabad: Several colonies and bastis in Ramnagar division barricaded roads, preventing strangers and foreigners coming into their colonies, as part of lockdown to prevent spread of the virus in their colonies. Only those who were offering essential services were being allowed into the colonies.

Colony welfare associations and basti committees ensured that roads leading to their colonies were barricaded with autos, vehicles and push carts. Such lockdowns were seen in Hari Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Krishna Nagar, SRT Quarters, Risalagadda, Pavitra Nagar, Bagh Lingampally, Sriramnagar, Lambadi Thanda, Surya Nagar, Arora College line, Uma Garden line, Jamistapur, Shivathanampur and other colonies in Ramnagar division.

Some colony residents were taking turns to ensure that no one enters their colonies. Colony associations have given call to their residents to follow the advisories of Central and State governments and stay in houses to prevent spread of the virus.

V Srinivas Reddy, corporator of Ramnagar division, congratulated colony associations for taking necessary measures in this regard. He called upon people to stay united and fight against the virus in a coordinated manner to save the State and country from the virus. He hoped that all other colonies would be inspired by their initiative and take necessary measures to fight the virus.
