Hyderabad: AICC secretary Vamsi Chand Reddy on Tuesday said that five years have gone by since the laying of foundation stone for the Palamuru – Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation scheme and there was no progress in construction. Addressing the media, he said that the foundation stone was laid on June 5, 2015.

He alleged that even 10 per cent of work in five years was not done. He reminded that the Chief Minister promised to complete the project within three years after laying the foundation stone. He said that cost of the construction of the project has gone up to Rs 60,000 crore from the previous estimation of Rs 35,200 crores.

So far the government has made Rs 7,000 cores of allocation in the past three years. Vamsi Chand said that there was no progress in acquisition of 3854 Acres of land required for the project. He alleged that the government has been redesigning the first pump house to get commissions.
