Hyderabad: State Agriculture Minister S Nirajana Reddy said that the Ramagundam Fertilizers Factory (RFF), is all set to start its production soon.

The Minister, who inspected the ongoing works of the RFF said that the 90 per cent of the construction and mounting of machinery works at the factory has been completed.

With a production capacity of 3,850 metric tons of urea and 2,200 metric tons of ammonia per day, "It will meet 50 per cent of the urea fertilizer demand of the state, " said the Minister.

Asking the officials to take steps for the early completion of the RFF, he said the RFF reflects the foresight of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

"The reconstruction of the RFF has been taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 6,120 crore. The factory has a dedicated water reservoir to meets its needs and the electrification works was completed in April, this year," he said.

That apart, the supply of gas to the factor had been completed in November last year. However, the factory which was proposed to start production in June has rescheduled its production line from September, this year.

The works at the factor had faced temporary problems due to the Covid lockdown, the Minister said.

Niranjan Reddy said that once the RFF starts operation it would reduce the transport expenditure that the State government incurring in the supply of fertilisers from distant places. Further, it will also provide livelihoods to the people in the State.

Later, the Minister inaugurated a blood camp at Ramagundam and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Rythu Vedika at Medipalli.

Minister Koppula Iswar, MLA K Chander, Dasari Manohar Reddy, District Collector Sikta Patnaik, Police Commissioner Satyanarayana, Commissioner Uday Kumar and others participated.
