Hyderabad: In wake of steady rise in number of people testing positive for COVID-19, the South Central Railway (SCR) has is bracing for accommodating up to 1,000 patients by identifying 1,000 beds across Hyderabad.
The identified locations are spread across the zones include railway hospitals, training institutes, and RPF Barracks among others. "If a passenger who is travelling train gets down at any station in the city and is suspected to be hit by Coronavirus, he or she will be admitted in these facilities identified by SCR. Further, tests and other errands will be run and if the same passenger is been tested positive then he/she will be shifted to Gandhi Hospital's isolation ward for further treatment," said Ch Rakesh, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway.
Further, as per the SCR officials since its inception, no suspected cases have been reported to these facilities so far. However, as an inhibitory measure the South Central Railway has initiated several steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. All major Railway stations across the city and trains coming from other states are being cleaned on areas like platforms, seating area, seats, grab rails, door rails, and window areas where passengers tend to interact more often with disinfectants (made from sodium hypochlorite-bleach).
Supply of blankets only on demand

Passengers not opting for blankets are requested to cooperate and make their own arrangements. The reserved passengers are further being intimated through SMS about the change in the supply of blanket facility. However, bed sheets, pillows, and covers will be supplied as usual.
The temperatures in the A/C coaches which were earlier around 210C will be maintained at 230C to 250C.
