Malkajgiri: Vasavi Vanitha Club of Malkajigiri organised 'Koti Shiva Linga Mouna Deeksha" on the premises of Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple at Malkajgiri on Friday. As part of the programme, 108 women devotees prepared 108 clay Shiva Linga idols each from the clay specially brought from three holy rivers. Women devotees maintained silence as part of the ritual and prepared idols with religious fervor amidst religious chantings. Speaking to media after the ritual, the club president Boorugu Lavanya said that various centres of Vasavi Club in the city would collect one crore Shiva Linga clay idols and send them to Kashi.
The club secretary Krishnaveni, treasurer Allampalli Nirmala and hundreds of women devotees participated in the programme.
