Hyderabad: Sports event held to mark women's day in Ashok Nagar

Ashok Nagar: Representatives of various women's associations of Musheerabad GHMC circle participated in the sports event organised by GHMC to mark International Women's Day at Indira Park on Friday. GHMC deputy commissioner Uma Prakash presided the programme. Women representatives participated in several sports competitions and won prizes on the occasion. Later, members of women's associations who played active role in various social service and women empowerment programmes were felicitated.

Speaking on the occasion, Uma Prakash advised women to aim for financial freedom through self-help groups and small-scale businesses. She suggested women to take special interest to preserve their health. Later, she explained women about precautions to be taken to prevent spread of Coronavirus. Deputy commissioner released pamphlets creating awareness on Coronovirus on the occasion.

Deputy projects officer V Ratna Rani, Dr Suvarna, UCD coordinator M Madhu, E Prema Chander, Uma, Srivani, ANHO Premlatha, members of several women self-help groups participated in the event.
