With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise in the city, the merchants in Troop Bazaar decided to close their shops for a week starting today.

With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise in the city, the merchants in Troop Bazaar decided to close their shops for a week starting today.

Troop Bazar is one of the biggest markets in the city with wholesale and retail shops of sanitary goods and electrical items. "There are 200 sanitary shops would remain shut for a week from June 26 to July 5, and that all merchants had agreed with the decision to contain spread of virus," said Joint Secretary Sanitary Goods Association, Troop Bazar.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association in Begum Bazar also decided to close all Kirana shops in market for a week starting from June 28 to July 5.

"There are over 500 kirana shops would remain shut for a week, and that all merchants had decided to shut and agreed with the decision," said Hyderabad Kirana Merchants Association Laxminarayan Rathi.

Recently, they also decided to down their shutters by 3 pm, but now as the cases are increasing market self decided to closed for a week.
