Isnapur: A resident of Chitkul village, Nalla Srinivas, who sustained serious injuries last year after high tension wire fell on him near Isnapur Crossroads, while he was returning home from duty, staged a demonstration at sub-station here under the auspices of YSRCP district SC Cell on Friday. His wife and children were present along with him.

Srinivas, who is facing a threat to life, alleged that Transco officials at Isnapur and Patancheru were indifferent to his repeated pleas for assistance, saying that it would be provided after discussions with higher ups. As he was fed up with the official apathy to his plight, Srinivas threatened to commit suicide by immolation, while breaking down. He submitted a representation to Krishnapur AE.

Later, YSRCP leader Raju urged Transco officials to at least, now, provide compensation to the electric shock victim's family and to help in improving his health. He warned of taking up an agitation by all parties in support of Srinivas and if required, to approach court against the Transco officials responsible for the accident.
