Hyderabad: Workshop on research methodology held in Osmania University

Osmania University: The Faculty of Social Sciences is organising one-week workshop on research methodology in Social Sciences at Arts College. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor D Ravinder OU Arts College principal on Tuesday.

Professor Ravinder urged research scholars to contribute to the development of Telangana society. He advised them to first have a right perspective on the topic before conducting extensive research on the topic. He said that the world has only two types of people: those with knowledge and those without knowledge, and only the latter can survive in the current competitive world. Senior journalist Professor K Nageshwar, delivering keynote address, emphasised the importance of research for societal progress. He said that universities need to transform into research centres. Apart from handing over knowledge from one generation to another, researches need to strive for resolving key issues facing society, he said.

Organiser of the workshop and OU Social Sciences Dean Professor Nayudu Ashok advised students to focus on learning various aspects of research methodology in the workshop. This would help in writing research thesis with ease, he said. Course coordinator Professor Balaswamy, research scholars from various social sciences departments participated in the programme.
