He participated as a chief guest at district-level yoga tournament-cum-selections organised by School Games Federation of Warangal (SGFW) for both boys and girls under 14 and 17 years at Government DIET College in Warangal on Thursday.

He said that from the beginning students should be interested in sports and with dedication and hard work they can achieve success. He said that he got a job in police department because of playing sports.

Success in playing sports will lead one to achieve good positions in police department, he added. 'My excellence in sports has earned me professional honour and awards,' he said.

Warangal Urban district SGF secretary G Immanuel said that the players, who excel in district-level yoga competitions, will be selected for the State-level competitions.

Warangal district players have good talent, but they need to be trained properly, said A Praveen, president of Warangal district PETs Association. The yoga asanas displayed by the students impressed the spectators.

Warangal District Yoga Association Secretary Kamalakar, PETA district vice-president M Venkateshwarlu, Yoga Competition co-conveners Peddiraju, Pushpaleela, Urban secretary Philip Lazarus, DIET PD Krishnamurthy, PETs Pasha, Srinivas, Ramu and others participated in this programme.

Warangal volleyball players selected for State-level

Warangal district should win State-level volleyball championship, said retired Additional Superintendent of Police Pulla Sanjeeva Rao. He presented Sports Jerseys to Warangal district volleyball players at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Hanamkonda on Thursday.

He said Warangal district has national and international level of talent in volleyball.

Girls team of volleyball including Ch Lavanya, S Anu Kavyanjali, Ramya, Anusha, Soujanya, Nirosha, Rakshitha, Chandana, Bhavya, Srithika, Manasa and B Soujanya will participate at

State-level SGF volleyball (Under 17) tournament to be held in Siddipeta from October 18.
