One of the most-populated municipal corporations in Telangana – Karimnagar is under siege since the news broke out that a group of coronavirus-infected people visited some religious places in the municipal town.

Dwellers were confined to stay in their homes and the medical authorities launched house-to-house screening of their health status.
Section 144 has been clamped in a radius of 3-kilometre range near Mukarampura in the municipal town where the Indonesians stayed in a masjid.
One hundred special medical teams were pressed into service to conduct medical tests to all the persons living in surrounding houses.
Officials said that all the offices, including government and private establishments and eateries and markets were closed.
The transport services, including RTC buses were suspended in Karimnagar. Since it was the first day of the 10th class exams special arrangements were made to ensure that the students reach their examination centres in time.
Around 14,000 students appeared for the examination which started on Thursday.
The district administration arranged masks, drinking water facilities along with medical camps at the examination centres for emergency medical services.
The Medical and Health department instructed the doctors to allow only emergency medical services and suggested the doctors of the various primary health centres and Health department to be alert round-the-clock.
District Judge Anupama Chakravarthi declared holidays to the district court and urged the advocates to stay indoors. Swimming pools, open gyms and other public places were shut down for the fourth consecutive day.
Limited number of devotees were allowed to visit Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy temple in Vemulawada and Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in Kondagattu after the completion of screening tests.
