Congress leaders G Chinna Reddy and S A Sampath say the former Irrigation Minister worked day and night to complete the project
Hyderabad: Congress leaders on Thursday demanded that the government invite former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram project.
Addressing the media here separately, All India Congress Committee secretaries G Chinna Reddy and S A Sampath said that the hard work done by the former Minister should be given recognition.
Speaking to the media, Chinna Reddy said that the former Irrigation Minister had worked day and night for the construction of the Kaleshwaram project.
He said they were not opposed to inviting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis to the programme. He criticised the Chief Minister for inaugurating a project though it was not completely completed.
Chinna Reddy alleged that the government had used the Zilla Parishad GPF funds of the government teachers to the tune of Rs 600 crore. He said that due to this, the applications for withdrawal of GPF by the teachers had been rejected.
He wondered about the proposal of the Centre to hold simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and State Assemblies and said that if the BJP was in favour of simultaneous polls why it had facilitated early polls for Telangana Assembly.
He said that while there were lot of issues the government had focused on construction of new buildings for the Secretariat and Assembly at a cost of Rs 500 crore. Most of the schools and hospitals did not have own buildings, he said.
He said that though TRS government states that it has been ruling a rich state, the promises being made to the government employees were not fulfilled. He said that 11 months delay has taken place in announcing the DA to them.
