Hyderabad: The High Court Chief Justice Bench on Thursday heard a Public Interest Litigation filed by K Srinivas, a PhD student of Osmania University, alleging that large scale irregularities have taken place while awarding fellowships to students of OU and Kakatiya University.

Further, the petitioner alleged that the fellowship was granted to the ineligible contrary to the UGC guidelines. He sought CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in awarding fellowships. The High Court bench issued notices to Central government, UGC, CBI, OU, KU to give explanation within four weeks and adjourned the matter for four weeks.
