IT Tower will be completed by this December: Minister Kamalakar
Karimnagar: The construction works of seven-storey IT tower building will be completed by December this year and will provide employment to about 3,600 jobless youth, BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar stated at a press meet at IT towers in Karimnagar on Tuesday.
The Minister said Karimnagar IT Tower is the second biggest in the State after the IT Tower present in Hyderabad. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao took special interest and sanctioned IT Tower to Karimnagar district, a seven-storey building being constructed in about three acres with an investment of Rs 35 crores.
The cellar of the IT Tower will accommodate nearly 60 cars. According to the agreement, the construction must be completed by Dasara festival. But due to heavy rainfall in the recent times, works were delayed and will be completed by the end of this December.
Once the construction is completed and IT Tower comes into operation, more than 3,000 youth will get jobs and at least 1,000 staff will work in each shift for a total three shifts. Already MOU was made with the companies in this regard and to accommodate extra 1,500 staff and negotiations are going on with other IT companies, Minister Kamalakar added.
Several number of IT students are shifting to Hyderabad and Bangalore in search of jobs and doing jobs after investing lot of money. With the opening of IT Tower in Karimnagar, it would be highly beneficial for such students and they can save money too, he added.
With the completion of IT Tower, cable bridge, boating facility in LMD and river front, Karimnagar city will become one of the most beautiful cities across the State, Kamalakar added.
IT department zonal manager, former Deputy Mayor Guggilla Ramesh, former corporators and former MPP Vasala Ramesh were present along with others.
