Congress leaders on Sunday condoled the death of RTC driver Srinivas Reddy who set himself ablaze on Saturday during a TSRTC strike in Khammam.
Hyderabad: Congress leaders on Sunday condoled the death of RTC driver Srinivas Reddy who set himself ablaze on Saturday during a TSRTC strike in Khammam.
Bhongir MP and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy described the suicide of TSRTC driver Srinivas Reddy in Khammam as a State murder.
Speaking to media persons, Venkat Reddy exhorted the striking RTC workers not to worry about their future and their jobs as the jobs belonged to them. He also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members of Srinivas Reddy.
Assuring the RTC workers that the Congress would stand by the family members of the victims, he urged the RTC workers not to lose courage and commit suicide.
Congress MLA from Sangareddy Jagga Reddy bemoaned the death of RTC driver Srinivas Reddy. He conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Congress to the bereaved family members.
He also said the Congress would stand by the victim's family. Jagga Reddy said the RTC workers played a crucial role in the separate Telangana agitation and went on strike for 25 days to exert pressure on the then government.
Although the RTC workers thought that their demands would be conceded by the State government, their dreams remain shattered by the apathy of the State government.
