Nalgonda: Joint Collector Chandra Shekar on Thursday said the doctors are considered as next to god. The students, who are studying medicine, should feel proud of securing seat in medical college.

The Joint Collector was speaking at the freshers' day celebrations at Udayaditya Bhavan here. Chandra Shekar expressed happiness over the establishment of medical college in Nalgonda and added that Minister for Education Jagadish Reddy and other people's representatives had played a key role in the establishment of the college.

He said senior professors from Osmania, Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges would give their services in the Nalgonda Medical College. He exhorted the students to gain knowledge to serve the society.

He said there is scarcity of doctors in many primary health centres in the state. He advised the students to serve the people after completing the course.

District Medical and Health Officer Kondal Rao also spoke. Retired DMHO Dr Ganga Vara Prasad, RMO Uday Singh and others were present.
