Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao convened a meeting of important leaders for the ensuing MPTC and ZPTC elections.

The meeting was scheduled for afternoon and the journalists started coming for covering the meeting. Some of the reporters got in.

However, the security deployed at the Telangana Bhavan did not allow the other media personnel to enter Bhavan, stating that there is no permission. The reporters had to wait and sit on a divider of the road.

With temperature being on a higher side, the media personnel requested the TRS leaders to allow them to enter the Bhavan. However, their request was not accepted.

Annoyed over this, the media personnel staged a dharna by sitting in front of the Bhavan in the scorching sun. Later, the TRS leader asked the media personnel to come into Bhavan but the reporters did not enter the Bhavan in protest.
