Kamareddy: The workers of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) staged rasta roko on national highway 161 at Madnoor mandal headquarters on Friday.
They alleged that thought the Central government had announced wages of Rs 237 per day for the labourers, the district officials are paying only Rs 60 to Rs 150.
They further alleged that the officials are transporting 40 to 60 workers in a tractor to workplaces without following social distance. The officials are not giving masks and other health care essentials to us to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The workers demanded payment of full wages.
