Karimnagar: RTC staff strike gaining momentum

Karimnagar: The leaders of Opposition parties along with the representatives of various peoples' organisations extended their support for the RTC employees, who are continuing their strike on sixth day. They demanded that the government must solve all the issues pertaining to RTC employees immediately.

Along with the RTC employees, they took part in a rally held from Geetha Bhavan to Karimnagar bus depot-I on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of Opposition parties alleged that the TRS government is trying to bring around 50,000 families of RTC employees on to the road by privatising the RTC.

'As per the constitution of India, every citizen has a right to do strike demanding solution to their issues.' They found fault with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's statement that 'the RTC employees had opted self-dismissal by not reporting to duty within the deadline' and said it was nothing but doing injustice to the RTC workers.

Without considering profits and loss, the RTC is rendering its services for the sake of the public and the TRS government must pay all the debts of RTC and take necessary steps for strengthening it, they demanded.

The leaders of Opposition parties warned that if the government will not solve the issues of RTC employees and save the RTC, all the political parties along with various peoples' organisations will intensify the strike and bring down the government.
