Karimnagar: To get rid of her family members who were coming in her way of extra-marital affairs, a 32-year-old woman allegedly tried to kill them by mixing poison in Semia here in Burugupalli village of Gangadhar mandal in Karimnagar district.

Though the incident took place on Thursday night it came to light on Saturday morning. The accused woman was identified as Uma, married to Vilasagar Anjaiah and has two children Sidhartha (11) and Manvi (4). She along with her children and husband including her in-laws Rajesham and Laxmi was living in Burugupalli village.

Uma developed extra-marital affairs with one Thirupathi of the same village. Thinking that her family members are coming in her way of their relation, Uma decided to kill them. She fed the family membes Semia mixed with poison on Thursday night and eloped with her boy friend.

When Laxmi, the mother-in-law of Uma, who did not eat semia, woke up and observed her family members in unconscious condition, and called the villagers who shifted them to the district government hospital. The condition of the Uma's daughter Manvi said to be critical. The Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Vivek registered a case and started investigation.
