Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao condoled the death of popular Telugu folk singer and radio commentator Dr Vinjamuri Anasuya Devi.

Expressing grief over her death, KCR said that she had played a key role in social activities besides taking part in the freedom movement. KCR also said that he knew her as a popular radio commentator.

Anasuya Devi was popular as a music composer, musicologist and author. She had given music concerts in the presence of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Subash Chandra Bose during the freedom struggle.

She was born on May 12, 1920 in Kakinada.
