KCR sets deadline for shifting of Secretariat offices
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has speed up official process for the construction of new Secretariat.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has speed up official process for the construction of new Secretariat.
He reportedly set deadlines for shifting of offices from the existing Secretariat, demolition of the buildings and the construction of state-of-the-art state headquarters in the demolished place.
The CM held a meeting with top officials on Saturday at Pragati Bhavan and discussed the issues regarding the construction of new secretariat and new Municipal Act.
It is learnt that KCR asked the officials to shift the offices to identified places in different parts of the city at the earliest.
He wanted to complete the process within three weeks or a month's time.
The officials explained the chief minister the requirement of manpower and logistical support to demolish the buildings in the Secretariat premises.
It is learnt that KCR asked the Roads and Building department officials to complete the process of razing the buildings and shifting of the debris in a maximum three months' time.
"KCR instructed the officials to complete the shifting of offices and demolition of building in a time-bound manner without any delay," a senior official said.
The construction work will be taken up simultaneously if the designs are finalised early, he said.
In the next meeting, the CM will finalise an action plan to achieve deadlines in construction of the new secretariat, the officials said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also held a review on the proposed new Municipal Act to be brought in to force soon.
He asserted the new act will have to deliver services to people in a transparent manner. He said that the existing municipal laws are not helping to redress the grievances of the people on fast track.
Unless the government enacted strong laws, people will not have access to good services from the government, KCR told the officials.
