MLC and former Minister Jeevan Reddy says the Chief Minister seeking national status for Kaleshwaram after spending `2 lakh crore looks strange

Hyderabad: The Congress party continued its tirade against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao over his New Delhi visit. Reacting sharply, MLC and former minister Jeevan Reddy said that KCR, it looked like, had dropped Federal Front plans and joined "Modi Front" instead. He was also critical of the news that KCR had sought national status for Kaleshwaram project during his meeting with the PM.

Speaking to newsmen here on Sunday, Jeevan Reddy pointed out that nearly Rs 2 lakh crore was spent on the irrigation project so far. Seeking national status at this stage looked strange, he said. The senior Congress leader said that new airport proposal for Warangal was made keeping an eye on Greater Warangal Municipal Elections that are due in coming weeks. "What is the use of CM seat if KCR has no time even to appoint VCs for State universities?" Jeevan Reddy asked.

The Congress leader hoped that KCR, at least after GHMC results, would change his governance and functioning.

Meanwhile, former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah also lashed out at KCR stating that Chief Minister had made tall claims that he would wage a war against the Centre, but took a U-turn now. Ponnala wanted to know why KCR went alone to Delhi without taking his senior officials. He questioned Rao as to why he did not brief media about his meetings with Modi and Amit Shah.

Ponnala said that TRS and BJP have a tacit understanding and people of the State should realise this.
