Kharif works gather pace in Adilabad
A good spell of pre-monsoon rain in the past few days has brought cheers to the farmers of Adilabad district, who have been waiting for the rains for one month.

On other hand, Adilabad District Collector D Divya Devarajan has instructed the officials concerned that crop loans should be distributed quickly to the farmers under kharif loan scheme, as they will take up cultivation of various crops soon.
Agriculture officials suggested the farmers to sow the seeds and wait until after two more rains.
With south west monsoons reaching the district after a fortnight, farmers are ready to sow seeds in the hope of getting good rains.
Speaking to The Hans India, Ramakrishna, a farmer from Tamsi mandal, lamented that he planted seeds in Mrugasira Karthe but incurred loss due to delayed rainfall. 'Now again, preparing to sow seeds in kharif season,' he added.
Speaking to this reporter, Rythu Sangham leader Bandi Dattatraya said that the government is distributing only soybeans seeds on subsidy during kharif season. If the government provides cotton seeds also on subsidy, then all the private companies will close. The government should cultivate cotton under horticulture and under the supervision of agronomists and make sure to supply water for cultivation, seeds and bank loans to each and every farmer, he observed.
