Hyderabad: The two-year-old boy who was kidnapped four days ago and sold to Rs 1 lakh has been rescued by the RGIA police on Saturday. The police arrested six people including a couple who bought the child.

The couple, Konda Nagesh (35) and his wife Konda Teja (28) bought the child from four people identified as G Kalyan (30), Sarangi Raju (30) and Konda Lalitha (37). According to the Shamshabad deputy commissioner of police K Prakash Reddy, Nagesh and Teja approached Lalitha for adopting a child. Lalitha with the help of Raju and Kalyan kidnapped the boy from her mother and sold them to the couple for Rs 1 lakh.

The police launched a hunt for the boy after his parents Venkatamma and Karunakar lodged a complaint with them. The boy was rescued and handed over to his parents.
