Hyderabad: BJP Secunderabad candidate G Kishan Reddy met Hyderabad Joint Collector and Secunderabad Parliament constituency Returning Officer G Ravi here on Friday following the announcement that polling percentage had gone up to 46 instead of 39 as declared on Thursday.

Addressing the media after meeting the Returning Officer, Kishan Reddy said the Election Commission declared that Secunderabad registered only 39 per cent polling on Thursday at the end of the polling.

However, the same was updated on Friday that the total votes polled was 46 per cent.

Kishan Reddy said the RO informed him that the turnout of voters during the last one hour made the polling to continue till 6 pm at several places.

The RO added that till 4 pm on the polling day the percentage was 39, however, the same has gone up to 46 per cent by the end of the polling.

Kishan Reddy pointed out to the Returning Officer that there were no crowds at many of the polling stations and an increase of 5 per cent of votes in the last one hour was "doubtful," Kishan Reddy said.

Kishan Reddy said the issue would be discussed within the party before deciding the future course of action.
