Kothagudem: Undertrial attempts suicide

Kothagudem: A man accused in a theft case and under judicial remand at the Bhadrachalam sub-jail has allegedly attempted suicide on Tuesday. The prisoner, Praveen Kumar alias Gaja, has cut his wrist with a metal sheet in the jail's bathroom. He was said be depressed as he failed to secure a bail in the theft case which he committed in December last.

Meanwhile, the alert jail officials shifted Praveen to Bhadrachalam Area Hospital for treatment. His condition was said to be stable. The accused, who belongs to Reddypalem in Burgampahad mandal in the district, is a habitual offender and was lodged in jail many a times in the past, informed the officials.
