Residents of the town are expressing despair over delay in launch of passport services even though the Center gave its go-ahead a year ago.
Zaheerbad: Residents of the town are expressing despair over delay in launch of passport services even though the Center gave its go-ahead a year ago.
The Central government had sanctioned the centre for the town on May 18 and even issued orders in this regard.
Earlier, officials made temporary arrangements at a post office but failed to launch the services.
Erstwhile, Medak district had two passport centers in Medak and Siddipet.
With the reorganisation of districts, Medak district was divided into three districts, and, as a result, Sangareddy people are deprived of the facility.
The government has allocated the centre for Zaheerabad after taking due considerations.
Several people from Zaheerabad go abroad for employment.
People are facing a tough time as there are no passport centres in Sangareddy district.
Passport center in the town also helps neighbouring states i.e., Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Normally, one can submit the application at Hyderabad Passport Office and the officials give information to Special Branch police.
After an enquiry by them, citizens get their passports through speed post but the whole process may take up to 25 working days.
Passport center in Zaheerabad not only ensures fast delivery of the passport to their places but also expenses will come down.
