Lok Sabha Polls : TRS will win 16 seats: Survey
The ruling TRS will win 16 seats out of 17 Lok Sabha segments in Telangana State in the ensuing elections
Hyderabad: The ruling TRS will win 16 seats out of 17 Lok Sabha segments in Telangana State in the ensuing elections. According to a random survey conducted by the party, the TRS is preferred by 57.45 per cent of voters followed by Congress 28 per cent, BJP 11.85%, Left parties 1.45%, and others 1.25%.
Seven sitting TRS MPs of Adilabad, Bhongir, Karimnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, Warangal and Zahirabad PCs are preferred again, extensively.
In Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Malkajgiri and Peddapalle Lok Sabha constituency also, voters preferred TRS candidate.
In Chevella and Nagarkurnool constituencies, voters preferred TRS candidates over INC candidates and in Secuderabad constituency, voters preferred TRS candidate over BJP candidate.
In Hyderabad PC, voters emphatically preferred MIM candidate.
Out of 80,678 female samples, 62.29 per cent preferred TRS followed by INC-26.27 per cent and out of 1,07,938, male samples, 53.84 per cent preferred TRS followed by INC-29.29 per cent.
TRS is preferred more in all the age groups. Old aged people (above 60 years) preferred TRS extensively by 74.63 per cent followed by 46-60 age group (59.31 per cent); 30-45 age group (56.64 per cent) and less than 30 age group (44.89) RS is extensively preferred by Minorities (67.28%) followed by BCs (58.47 per cent), SCs (58.71 per cent), STs (57.41 per cent) & OCs (48.11 per cent).
Preference of OCs (21.9 per cent) towards BJP may be attributed to provision of 10 per cent reservation to poor people in OCs under EBC quota, the survey report said.
