Kamareddy: A statue of Mahatma Gandhi was vandalised by unidentified assailants in Borlam village in Banswada mandal of Kamareddy district on Tuesday morning. The hands and feet of the Gandhi statue were stoned by the thugs.
The accused also smashed the CCTV camera so that they could not be identified. The villagers lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered a case and are investigating. The villagers said that about 30 years ago the villagers deposited money and set up the statue. Gandhi Jayanti and Varthanthi will be celebrated in a festive atmosphere, a villager Srinivas Reddy said.
