Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, man killed his wife allegedly suspecting her character at Moti Mahal under Golconda police station limits on Monday.

The accused himself informed the police about the murder and escaped from the spot. The accused was identified as Basheer Ahmed, a cab driver. According to the police, Basheer Ahmed, who was already married, married his wife's sister Sameera Begum (35) and the duo has four children.

Basheer developed suspicions against Sameera Begum's character and often quarrelled with her. Police held counselling for the duo a few days ago after the clashes reached the police station.

Police said on Monday at about 11 am, Basheer called the Golconda police and informed that he murdered his wife. On receipt of the information, police rushed to spot and found the body of Sameera.

The accused fled from the scene of murder. The accused allegedly killed his wife by cutting her throat with a knife. Police registered a case and efforts are on to nab the accused.
