Medaram ready for devotees

Medaram (Mulugu): Barring a few minor works, arrangements for the biennial Sammakka Saralamma jatara are in place, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said. Inaugurating bus point here on Saturday along with Minister for Tribal Welfare and Women Development Satyavathi Rathod and Minister for R&B Vemula Prashanth Reddy, he said that all the State departments worked in tandem to ensure jatara a hassle free experience for the devotees.

Referring to the sanitation measures, Errabelli said that as many as 8,400 toilets have been constructed besides deploying manpower to ensure hygienic conditions in the jatara. He said that the TSRTC has made arrangements to run 4,000 buses for the convenience of devotees.

"The jatara will be conducted as per the culture and tradition of the Adivasis," Errabelli said. The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen to ensure utmost comfort for the devotees visiting Medaram, he added. He said that arrangements were such that both ordinary devotees and VIP will have a hassle free darshan of the Goddesses. Meanwhile, I&PR opened media centre besides the government hospital, close to Sammakka Saralamma altars. Earlier, the ministers inaugurated the causeway at Katakshapur.

Farmers Coordination Committee Chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Mahabubabad MP Maloth Kavitha, Mulugu MLA Seethakka alias Danasari Anasuya, Mulugu In-charge Collector R V Karnan and Mulugu ZP Chairperson Kusuma Jagadish were present.
