Medchal: Pocharam civic body nod for budget estimates

Medchal: The councillors of Pocharam municipality on Monday approved of the budget estimates presented by Municipal Chairman Kondal Reddy setting apart one-third of the funds for undeveloped areas, where weaker sections and minorities live. The rest of funds have been allocated to development of parks and grave yards, comprehensive markets and construction of dump yards. The total income is shown as Rs.2,430.93 lakh, while the expenditure Rs 2,330.93 lakh.

Medchal District Collector Vasam Venkatesharlu, who attended the municipal meeting, said the budget had been prepared keeping in view the new Municipal Act introduced by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, which enunciates separate budget for every civic body.

He said from the revenue accruing to the municipality the salaries of the staff and outsourcing employees, sanitation works, payment of electricity charges, loan installments would be met. Ten per cent of the funds would be set apart for the Haritha Haram works.

Among those present at the meeting were Additional Collector John Samson, Municipal Commissioner Raghu, Chairman Kondal Reddy, Vice-Chairman Redya Naik, Tahsildar Vijayalakshmi, according to an official release.
