Hyderabad: The L & T Metro will be connecting the Secunderabad and Hyderabad with the launch of the JBS-Falaknuma corridor 2 soon. The trial run began on Monday as part of the Metro-2 corridor from JBS to MGBS. The technical team led by Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, HMRL Project Director P Naidu and Chief Operating Officer AK Sai examined Technology and safety standards in the corridor. There are nine stations along the 11 km route.

Officials estimated that it would take 16 minutes from JBS to MGBS via Parade Grounds, Secunderabad West, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, RTC Crossroads, Chikkadpally, Narayanaguda, and Sultan Bazar. "Usually, this route takes up to 45 minutes on the road," NVS Reddy said.

The trail run will go on for few more weeks, and then passengers are allowed for commuting. As part of the trial run, technical excellence, train handling, timing, signalling system performance, brake test, train control system, passenger information, train arrival announcement, etc. were examined.

Travellers coming to JBS from Karimnagar, Siddipeta, Medak and Ghajwel, can reach the MGBS directly on the metro route. Thousands of people are facing hardships by travelling in buses along this route. The Metro is very convenient for commuters travelling from the railway station as well.
