Mission Bhagiratha- quenched people's thirst in five years: KCR

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao greeted the people on the fifth formation year of Telangana state. He offered prayers at martyrs memorial and hoisted the flag.

Addressing the people, KCR said that the state has achieved a 16.5 per cent growth rate in the last five years and hoped for the same in future increasing the state revenue. "Every year Rs 8 lakh will be allocated for the development works in the gram panchayats," KCR added.

Several issues were resolved in the five years like uninterrupted power supply and drinking water to the people. KCR said that he is proud to announce that Telangana has become one and only state to provide uninterrupted power supply to the agriculture and industrial sector.

The state government proposed Mission Bhagiratha scheme has quenched the people's thirst in the last five years and the works will get completed by July end.

KCR expressed satisfaction over the Aasara pension scheme which is aiding the senior citizens, disabled, widowed women and others in the state. Mission Kakatiya which is aimed to provide irrigation water in the state has garnered worldwide attention, said KCR.

The Telangana is set to create a record with the completion of Kaleshwaram project, one of the biggest in the recent times, said KCR adding that it will provide irrigation water to Warangal, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, SIddipet, Medak, Jagtial, Medchal, Yadadri, Bhongir.

The chief minister then listed out the schemes proposed by the government such as a hike in the wages of priests, completion of pending projects, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi-Mubarak schemes.
