Hyderabad: Telangana seems to be passing through a phase of ‘Aya Rams Gaya Rams - something that used to be a common practice in the North in the past.

As the date for elections fast approaching, the poaching game seems to be getting intensified. Political grapevine says that some more BRS leaders are getting ready to desert the car and join either the BJP or the Congress party. There are speculations that BRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao and his daughter Gadwal Vijayalakshmi are on the verge of joining the Congress.

Sources close to Keshava Rao said while Vijayalakshmi was keen on joining the Congress so that she can retain her Mayor’s post, Keshav Rao is still undecided as the pink party had given him important positions. The sources said that another senior leader and former minister T Srinivas Yadav is also looking towards the Congress as he is unhappy that the BRS whom he had served with dedication had denied ticket to his son Sai Kiran Yadav who had unsuccessfully contested from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency against G Kishan Reddy of the BJP in 2019. Among others who may quit the BRS and join the Congress are from Adilabad district. This includes Koneru Konappa and A Indrakaran Reddy. Konappa has already resigned from the BRS.
