Mulugu Digithon was a grand success: TITA
The Digithon tour, which was envisaged to enlighten rural students on digital literacy concluded in another district and it becomes grand success.
Mulugu/Hyderabad: The Digithon tour, which was envisaged to enlighten rural students on digital literacy concluded in another district and it becomes grand success. Students have learnt different technical skills in the two-day program that was conducted in Mulugu district on 2nd and 3rd of November.
Mulugu District Collector Narayana Reddy has appreciated Digithon tour by TITA. He requested more programs for Mulugu district which comprises of mostly Tribal and Adivasi population. 'Digithon public issue management app' was unveiled in this Digithon tour and also students were given 'digital login' books.
Jayesh Ranjan, Principle Secretary, IT department, Telangana government has flagged off the Digithon tour of Mulugu district on Friday at Hyderabad. Narayana Reddy, District Collector, has inaugurated students training program at bandarupalli residential school of Mulugu district. V. Prakash, chairman, Telangana water resources development agency is the chief guest for this program. On this occasion, the District Collector told that now adays awareness on technical related things is a must for students. Usually rural students are a bit backward in these areas due to several reasons, but they found a solution because of TITA's Digithon tour, he said.
Narayana Reddy, collector has appreciated TITA's program and has proposed two more issues to the team lead by TITA global president Mr. Sundeep Kumar Makthala. He has requested technical support for a program called "raithe ma raju" and also asked to prepare an app for this.
He also told that Medaram Jathara is going to be conducted in a big way soon and has requested for technical help to make this a grand success. He also expressed that there are a lot of tourism centres in mulugu district and asked to make use of them. TITA digithon team has responded positively to all the suggestions and assured technical support for these very soon.
Computer basics, awareness on internet usage, creating email id, cashless transactions, google maps and search engine topics were covered in Digithon tour. Mulugu district students were made to talk to the techies those were in Sydney through Skype. A two-day hackathon was also conducted in government degree college along with this. Interested students have selected different topics and issues related to tribals, Adivasis and tourism of their district and participated in the hackathon.
