'NaMo Again 2019' drive gains traction
Hyderabad: 'NaMo Again 2019,' a city-based NGO, is leaving no stone unturned and its members are campaigning day and night in support of G Kishan Reddy. The campaign is centred primarily in Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency.
"We started our journey with a couple of young guys and some of my business friends. Now, we have hundreds in numbers," said Arul Raj, one of the founder-members. He said, "The campaign has picked up in a very short time. So, we are putting more efforts to reach out to more people in Secunderabad. There are more than 500 people working for NaMo Again 2019 campaign. For the last couple of days, the campaign has been gaining traction on the social media also."
Core idea of 'NaMo Again 2019'
The name itself shows what is the core idea. The NGO wants Narendra Modi to be the Prime Minister in 2019 also. All over India, this type of activity has been going on and in Telugu states various teams have been working for Modi campaign voluntarily. The NaMo Again 2019 is targeting from countrymen to statesmen, young boys to retired persons, homemakers to professional women.
Volunteers are making it a point to visit each and every household, explain Modi's work and vision, and urge them to vote for BJP. The NGO says it stands for no profit and is not commercial in any manner.
Innovative campaign
The Namo Again 2019 teams are conducting innovative campaigns. In Secunderabad constituency, there are 29 teams, each team having 12 to 14 members. Some are going door-to-door to explain Modi's vision. Others get in touch with youth and discuss the future of India. Apart from this, the teams go to communities and interact. The teams talk about the strong leadership of Modi and the developmental programmes that have been undertaken in the last few years – from the recent surgical strikes in Pakistan to the crackdown on corruption and cleansing the banking system. "I know Kishan Reddy for the last two decades. He comes from a poor agricultural family; so, I earnestly joined this campaign to support him," says GKS Raja from Sneha Group and a founder member of NaMo Again 2019. "Kishan Reddy is known to be a gentleman and does not have criminal cases unlike many politicians, where many politicians come with criminal records. Kishan is an exception," he added. Kishan Reddy started his career as a youth leader in late twentieth century. He was elected as national president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha from 2002 to 2005. He was elected as an MLA from Himayatnagar constituency in 2004 and was elected again in 2009 and 2014 from Amberpet assembly constituency with a majority of over 27,000 votes. He was unanimously elected as the Telangana BJP president, succeeding Bandaru Dattatreya.
Recognition from all sectors
The NGO started voluntarily in Hyderabad and is recognised by Modi's core team. Kishan Reddy is satisfied with its innovative campaign and has personally appreciated the team. Some of Hyderabad media houses have also started recognising this innovative campaign.
"We have been working for future India. We believe that Modi is the capable leader for India for the next decade. Not only we but there are crores of people satisfied with Modi, including in Telangana," said Ashok Patnaik, the convenor for the campaign. "As we started our work, we thought that we are the only supporters of Modi, but day by day we are getting increasing support from the denizens of Hyderabad. We are primarrily focusing on Secunderabad. Our campaign is not for elections alone, we are working for Future India," Patnaik adds.
