NCC plays stellar role in grooming youth: DG NCC
Director General of National Cadet Crops Lt Gen Rajeev Chopra appreciated the efforts undertaken by the NCC Directorate and State governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for their assistance and contribution towards achieving the goals of NCC and in nation-building.
Hyderabad: Director General of National Cadet Crops Lt Gen Rajeev Chopra appreciated the efforts undertaken by the NCC Directorate and State governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for their assistance and contribution towards achieving the goals of NCC and in nation-building.
The DG-NCC during his visit to the NCC Directorate of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was received by Air Commodore NN Reddy, DDG of AP and TS Directorate. The NCC Cadets presented guard of honour to him during his visit on Wednesday.
During his visit, the DG emphasised that NCC has played a stellar role in grooming the youth of the country by developing discipline, charters, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service in them and thus moulding them into responsible citizens.
The visiting dignitary was briefed on the activities of NNC Units and their achievements at National level. The General officer met with all nine Group Commander of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
During his visit, the DG NCC visited Bison Training Ground and met the JCOs and PI Staff undergoing PIOC course and appreciated their hard work. Further, he visited Loyola Academy, which is rated one of the best 15 institutions in India.
The General Officer laid the foundation stone for the proposed construction of a 50-meter Firing Range and 200 meters 'Obstacle Training Course' for the cadets.
The DG NCC addressed the NCC cadets and also felicitated some cadet achievers and NCC staff for their outstanding performance and contribution to the organisation.
During his address to the cadets, the visiting officer appreciated their enthusiasm and high standards of Drill and Turnout.
He specially thanked the Loyola Academy for taking an initiative to augment the training facilities for the NCC activities in their premises.
The General Officer also took some question from the audience and gave out his vision for strengthening NCC as an organisation in future.
