Hyderabad: The state government claims that in next ten months' time, Hyderabad will have two more new attractions apart from the famous Charminar. They will be the unique iconic state-of-the-art Secretariat building and the state Assembly and Legislative Council at one place in a 10-month time.

The officials are confident that the construction of these buildings will be completed within ten months after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to lay foundation stone for the construction of new secretariat and assembly buildings.

Special Chief Secretary to R&B department Sunil Sharma on Wednesday held a marathon meeting with the department officials to chalk out an action plan.

Inviting global tenders to finalise the contract agency, demolition of the structures and shifting of the debris, designs of the new buildings and shifting of all offices to other places were the main challenges before the government.

Officials said that the R&B department will take up the responsibility of the addressing every task during the construction of the buildings. According to the government estimates, the total cost of construction of the 100 per cent Vastu-compliant Secretariat and Assembly is Rs 400 crore to Rs 500 crore.

Officials said that the two structures will be unique and it will be future icons like Charminar. The designs of the structures are being prepared by the reputed architecture agencies in the country.

The state government is keeping the ground-breaking ceremony to be a low-key affair. The chief minister invited all his cabinet colleagues and MLAs and MLCs of all parties to attend the programme on Thursday morning.

KCR will perform puja at the construction site in the presence of the ministers and officials. Later, the CM will host lunch to all his party MLAs and ministers at Pragati Bhavan before holding a state executive at TRS Bhavan in the afternoon.
