Nizamabad: Light rains have been recorded in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts for the past two days, making the atmosphere cool. Since the last two days, i.e., Sunday and Monday, were holidays due to Bonalu festival, people remained indoors.
According to a report released by Telangana State Development Planning Society here on Monday, 44.5 mm of rain was recorded in Patharajampet in Kamareddy district. 44 mm in Gandhari, 42.3 mm in Machareddy, 41.3 mm in Lachchapet, 33.8 mm in Ramareddy, 33.8 mm in Tadvai, 33.8 mm in Sadashivpet, 30.8 mm in Bibipet, 30.8 mm in Domakonda and 30.5 mm rain was recorded in Sarwarpur. TSDPS Assistant Executive Officer B Venumadhav said Maggidi village, Armoor mandal, Nizamabad district, had received the highest rainfall of 54.5 mm. Meanwhile, 39.8 mm rainfall recorded in Veilpur, 38.3 mm in Khammerpalli and Konasamudram, 37.5 mm in Nandipeta Tandur, 36.7 mm in Macherla (Armoor mandal), 35 mm in Bingal and Chandur, 33.8 mm in Sirikonda Thummanapalli and 33.8 mm in Maklur, he said.
Agriculture Officer Mekala Govind said that these rains are useful for crops in the district.
