District Collector M Rammohan Rao had allotted liquor shops through the lottery system here on Friday. Earlier there were 95 liquor shops in the district and the number was reduced to 91 in the current Abkari Year.
Nizamabad: District Collector M Rammohan Rao had allotted liquor shops through lottery system here on Friday. Earlier there were 95 liquor shops in the district and the number was reduced to 91 in the current Abkari Year. About 1,072 people applied for liquor shop and among them 67 were women.
Joint Collector Venkateshwar was present during the lucky draw held at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium here.
This year, new persons got the shops disappointing those, who were already in the liquor business for years. Those, who didn't get the shop, are seen negotiating partnership with the new ones.
In the form of applications for liquor tenders, the government got a revenue of about Rs 21.44 crores.
