Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the TSRTC merger with the government is no mean task. "Not the strike, but the entire corporation will be closed soon," said the chief minister.

Speaking at the press conference, KCR said that they have chosen the wrong path. Within the four years span, the government has increased 67 per cent of the employees' salary which is the first-ever thing in the country's history. Although the hike, 44 per cent fitment and 15 per cent IR, the RTC employees are agitating to fulfil their demands, he wondered.

"It is not easy to merge RTC with the government. There are 57 corporations working in the state and what will be the situation if all the corporations follow the same path," said KCR.

The RTC is being pushed into 100 crores debts every month. While the RTC is getting Rs 3 crore loss per day, the private travels buses are being run with Rs 4 crore profit per day. Currently it has Rs 5,000 crore debts, said KCR.

"The RTC has gone to strike during the festive season Dasara which would have helped the corporation in getting huge money," he said adding that the employees themselves are driving the corporation towards its closure.
