As many as 160 NRIs who were stuck due to the coronavirus lockdown has sought permission of Civil Aviation ministry to hire a chartered flight to flew back to UAE.

As many as 160 NRIs who were stuck due to the coronavirus lockdown has sought permission of Civil Aviation ministry to hire a chartered flight to flew back to UAE.

The NRIs hired a chartered flight to move to UAE from Hyderabad today i.e on July 2 and also sought the permission, but no permission has been accorded yet. Meanwhile, the UAE immigration has accorded permission to the NRIs to enter their country by July 4, 21 days from the date of permission.

As the day is nearing, the NRIs are worried about their travel to UAE. Most of them had come to Hyderabad from UAE due to various reasons such as education, business, health and visiting their children or parents, said the Telangana Friends Association, Abu Dhabi in a letter to union minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy. It further stated that they had applied permission to the UAE government for their return which was approved.

The association said that they have no idea how long the current situation will prevail in the country. "As most of them are affecting financially, they want to move back and resume their duties," it stated adding that the approval from UAE will expire today.
