Off season rains damage crops

Dubbak: A sudden downpour in the early hours of Tuesday, damaged the standing crops in several villages of the mandal. The rain between morning two to six O'clock gave a big blow for the farmers in the region. Lamenting on the damage, the farmers said the rain with thunderstorms and hailstorms severely damaged crops like paddy, cotton etc., which are being cultivated in hundreds of acres.

They also said the stored corn was also drenched and leafy cultivation in some areas were affected. The farming community in distress said the harvest is not up to the expectation level and supportive price is also not given properly, and now the rain destroyed our hopes. They appealed the government to come to their rescue.
