Over 30 lakh students being supplied super fine rice
Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that the State Government was providing Super Fine Rice (Sanna Biyyam) for students studying in Government Schools, Government Residential Schools and Hostels in the State.
Hyderabad: Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Monday informed the Legislative Assembly that the State Government was providing Super Fine Rice (Sanna Biyyam) for students studying in Government Schools, Government Residential Schools and Hostels in the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLAs Ravi Shankar Sunke, Bollam Mallaiah Yadav and Banoth Shankar Naik during Question Hour, the minister said that a quantity of 98803.415 MTs, including 70654.02 MTs for Hostels and 28149.395 MTs for Schools, of Super Fine Quality rice (Sanna Biyyam) was supplied covering 4020 Hostels with 9.01 Lakhs students and 27,406 schools with 22.73 Lakhs students.
He said an amount of Rs. 306.62 Crores was spent as on September 7 this year for the year 2019-20. The Civil Supplies Dept was allocated a budget of Rs. 1,372.2167 Crores for April-September 2019 for the year 2019-20 towards subsidy on Rice, which includes the expenditure of Sanna Biyyam Scheme.
