Paddy farmers decry incorrect weighing

Miryalaguda (Nalgonda): Farmers of Tungapahad village staged a dharna before the Maha Laxmi Rice Mill accusing it of colluding with the organisers of IKP procurement centres and cheating them by weighing their produce incorrectly during the paddy purchase.

After confirmation of irregularities of Maha Laxmi Rice Mill by the task force constituted by officials of police, weights and measures department, on Wednesday, the local farmers staged a protest before the entrance of rice mill and demanded justice to them by re-weighing the sold paddy.

They urged the task force officials not to spare the cheated millers by filing simple cases, and demanded criminal cases against accused in order to avoid such incidents in future.
