'Palle Pragathi' enhancing quality of life in rural areas: Errabelli
Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the Palle Pragathi Programme has been taken by the State Government to maintain greenery and cleanliness in villages.

Replying to a question raised by TRS MLAs Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy, Gadari Kishore Kumar, Maha Reddy Bhupal Reddy and Ajmera Rekha during Question House in Assembly on Thursday, the Minister said that the Palle Pragathi was being conducted with the twin objective of enhancing the quality of life in the rural areas and improving the governance of the Gram Panchayats. During Palle Pragathi programme, sanitation and Haritha Haram programme were the main activities taken up, he said.
Dayakar Rao said that Sanitation like removal of garbage, cleaning of roads, drains, debris and Pichhimokkalu were taken up while Vaikuntadhamam, dump yards are being constructed. Segregation of waste is being practised. Tractors were purchased by each Gram Panchayats for the transport of waste and watering to plants. Soak pits were taken up in every Gram Panchayat on a massive scale, he said.
The Minister said that under Telangana Ku Haritha Haram, 10.90 Crores seedlings have been planted in 1,47,261 locations during 2019-20 Planting season and distributed 3.16 Cr seedlings for Homestead plantation. In each Gram Panchayat, one Functional Nursery has been established during 2019-20 with Nursery Target of 23.54 Crore seedlings which includes fresh raising, conversion into tall plants and maintenance of left over stock for plantations to be taken up during 2020 Planting season.
He said Palle Pragathi funds could be utilized for avenue plantation and saplings plantation on both sides of irrigation canals/other canals. Every month, the State Government is releasing Rs. 339.00 Crores from September 2019 to all the Grama Panchayats apart from NREGA Grants.
