Hyderabad: All police stations in the country will come under 100 per cent online connectivity with the Union Home Ministry by the end of July this year, according to Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy.

At an informal interaction with mediapersons here on Saturday, Reddy said, "About 60 to 70 per cent of police stations in the country have already come under online connectivity with the Union Home Ministry."

This will help ministry officials to see a First Information Report (FIR) filed at any police station in the country in the national database. Efforts are on to complete 100 per cent coverage of all the police stations in the country by the end of July," he added.

Referring to his elevation as Union minister, Kishan Reddy said he is trying to catch up with the subjects assigned to him.

Terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir, northeastern states and safety of women are some of the issues which the ministry has been working on to come up with several initiatives. "Cyber security and cyber terrorism are the two other important issues which the ministry will be focussing to take necessary steps.

Dismissing the allegations on the BJP about religious agenda, Kishan Reddy said, "People in West Bengal want a change of guard in that state. Even in the case of the Muslims, those from Bangladesh are with the TMC and the Indian Muslims are with the BJP."

Similarly, in Telangana, he said people are looking at the BJP as an alternative due to the policies being pursued by the ruling TRS. Further, Kishan Reddy said TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, who is shaking hands with the Majlis, has no moral right to question the BJP.

On the issue of National Register of Citizens (NRC), the minister said, "Government has to identify and deport illegal immigrants. It is its responsibility.

Application of NRC is sought for the entire country and Hyderabad is no exception. Opposing the vote bank politics, he said the BJP has taken a clear stand for deporting every single illegal immigrant from the country to their respective countries in an honourable manner.

On the women's safety, the minister said that efforts are on to bring certain amendments to the existing laws. Besides, strengthening by introducing stringent actions against those committing crimes against women as well as under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.

Referring to certain incidents in National Capital, the minister said, "He will be visiting police stations in Delhi and will interact with people after the completion of the parliament session."

Responding to a question Kishan Reddy said that his party is not in a hurry and will wait till 2023 to come to power in Telangana.
