Hyderabad: The growing protests against proposed mining of uranium in the Nallamala forest region seems to be becoming a rallying factor for the opposition parties in both the Telugu-speaking states.

On one hand while all political parties in Telangana are gearing up to launch a combined struggle on the issue, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan feels that all parties cutting across not only party lines but also state boundaries should fight against the move to mine uranium.

Pawan called the TPCC working president over phone and asked him to join hands with Jana Sena. He said that it was a serious issue which has large-scale environmental issues involved in it.

It would even adversely affect the tribals who live in those areas. He said this should be viewed as a very serious issue and a joint fight against it should be put up so that the government would be forced to withdraw its decision.

He also invited him to attend an all-party meeting being organised by him in Hyderabad on Monday.
